So my buddy texted me last week freaking out because he found a flight to Lisbon for like nothing. And honestly that got me down a rabbit hole I didn’t expect. I spent three straight nights comparing fares across every booking site I could find. My girlfriend thought I lost it. Maybe I did. But what I found was too good to keep to myself.
New York to Lisbon is going for under $350 round trip right now for 2026 dates. I double checked it three times because I genuinely thought something was broken on the site. Nope. Real fare. Real seats.
Then there is Los Angeles to Tokyo. The yen is still struggling and airlines over there keep adding capacity on Pacific routes. I saw fares floating near $450 round trip. My cousin went last fall and spent like $5 on the best bowl of ramen she ever had. So yeah, your money stretches far once you land too.
London to Marrakech made me laugh out loud. Sixty bucks round trip on certain days. You literally spend more on brunch in Soho. Budget carriers are going to war on this one and travellers are winning.
Chicago to Reykjavik finally got affordable. I remember when flying to Iceland cost you a kidney. Now round trips sit under $300 pretty regularly. About time honestly.
Miami to Bogota is another one I keep seeing pop up. Around $200 round trip. Colombia is having a moment and airlines clearly want in on that action.
For my Texas people, Dallas to Barcelona direct routes brought prices way down. Think $380 range for round trips. A few years ago you would have paid double easily.
Toronto to Dublin is showing fares under $400 CAD for summer 2026 which is kind of nuts for peak season across the Atlantic.
San Francisco to Seoul caught me off guard. Korean airlines bought a ton of new planes and they need butts in those seats. Under $500 round trip is something I never thought I would type for that route.
And finally Berlin to Bangkok for under $400 if your dates are flexible. I sat there staring at my screen thinking about how that is basically what I paid for new running shoes last month.
Here is the thing though. These prices exist because airlines are competing harder than ever and they ordered way too many planes during COVID recovery. So supply is high and they need to fill seats. But once those cheap seats go, fares jump quick. I have watched it happen dozens of times.
Seriously just go set a fare alert tonight. Pour yourself a coffee, open Google Flights or Sky scanner, and save these routes. Future you will be grateful. Trust me on that one.
